Township Policy Passed by Cabinet

The urban development department proposed the formulation of a new Township Policy to cater to the increasing urbanisation and to encourage private investments. The towns will have to conform to certain basic criteria like 25% of residential apartments for the Economically Weaker Sections of the Society and earmarking 25% of the land use on economic themes. The minimum area would be 50 acres. Here is a clipping from today's Anandabazar on this:

  1. Dear sir,
In earlier post you have mentioned to transfer stand road into an under ground road and replace the circular railway into an under ground metro.

Now, Joka-BBD bag metro is already under construction. Is it possible to extend this line in the north to Kolkata station through Bara-Bazar, Ahiritola, bagbazar and Tala ? Then there will be no requirement of circular railway.

    Regards
    Shubhashis
