Butterfly in Garden

The Butterfly Park in Eco Park is now quite popular with hundreds of butterflies now visible within the dome. But the other day, I noticed a beautiful butterfly made out of plants in the garden. A photo:

  1. 100% agree with the observation - foot bridges or short subways just to cross a road had been a flop country-wide, barring few exceptions, due to simple science of human having to spend extra energy to go up or down. Whereas underpass or elevated roads at human crossings for vehicles had been a great success (PCMC had implemented many much before and PMC now following) due to vehicle engine taking that additional burden of overcoming the height difference but getting compensated by savings due to signal free and brake-free smoother run.

  2. Sir, I want to draw your attention to these projects. If a state like UP can do these why can't we. In fact, we have precedence of such projects in the form of Calcutta Riverside. I believe we can even emulate such thing for Kalyani to make it the next big thing. The links of the project are as follows.

    1. Sir,

A similar project (albeit on a much smaller scale) has been at a concept stage just next to 2nd Hoogly Bridge! Below is the link:

  4. Sir,

    I had a request.

    I am an amateur astronomer.
I live near Akankya More in a housing complex and usually take my telescope out to the building terrace to watch the stars.
There is a high light stand put up in the island of Akankya More which has many bright halogens.
It lights up the entire sky and washes out the stars from the night sky.

Would it be possible by any means to switch off that light for an hour or 2 late in the night, e.g 12 - 2 AM.

I understand that this is a weird request and that the light stand has been put up for the greater good of the community.
However, would be greatly obliged if you can consider this.

    Thanks

    1. Samik's request may be an isolated one, but shows how very small things generally do not come to our mind might impact others very special need or hobby. A thing to consider for future specification of such lights....such light stands are for lighting the roads and not the sky...may be bigger and better reflectors could do the work better?
