Kalyani Lottery Application in January

For the 110 plots in Kalyani, additional applications will be invited in January 2012. Advertisements were published in today's Anandabazar and other papers:
To introduce a system of Fire Audit in New Town, we published an EOI. Here is a clipping from Anandabazar:

  1. Excellent and very quick action by NKDA. We are sure new year will see many such new and proactive shows-the-way type initiatives from HIDCO and NKDA.
Happy new year to Mr. Sen, all fellow bloggers and readers.

  2. But not sure about the fate of this advertisement of Kalyani..........unknown reason for delay....unknown date of lottery............unknown reason for another advertisement.......everything is peculiar about this lottery.......

  3. The date of lottery is normally announced and published in papers after the period of application is over to cater to the time required to process the same.
The second period of application is because the government has considered that a chance may be given for all interested sections of the society to apply.

  4. We hope that lottery will be held in due course of time.Sir, is there any decision taken/under consideration by the Government to waive the huge amount of transfer fees(Rs. 25000-50000/-per cottah) imposed in Kalyani township? It is very difficult for some of us to buy old house in the area.

  5. We will publish the date as soon as it is fixed...
I have a query: how much does one pay to buy land / "old house" in Kalyani these days?

    1. for your information, present rate is about 2-10 lacs per cottah depending upon nature of land.one has to pay more than 35 lacs for small old house these days + transfer fees. If the old houes has more than 5 cottah land, additional 50000/-per cottah is charged as transfer fees with all other costs like registration fees etc.So this additional burden is sometimes proved unbearble for salaried person like me.

    2. The price has sought upto 90 lakhs to 1.50 crores (8-10 cottah plots) in some areas near to Central Park (B10, B9, B8).

  6. Dear Mr Sen

I would like to raise the same question asked by Dr Mandal earlier - Is there any decidion taken/under condieration to waive off the trasfer fees? The market price of Plots in Kalyani has shot up to a great extent over last 2 years and it is extremely difficult to shell out such huge transfer charges after paying a fortune for the plots. Will appreciate your response.

  8. Respected Sir,

Is there any way the land transfer process in Kalyani be simplified and cost at each stage be reduced. If reduction is not possible, atleast a person should have a clear idea of the extra cost required above the money paid to the seller which should be put in the Estate Office. At current stage, a 10 cottah plot needs around 7-10 lakhs extra costs which a buyer might not be aware of. Moreover, a transfer of plot is taking more than 1 to 1.5 years to be complete. It is very hard for a common man to do the necessary followup every time. It is an earnest request to simplify the process of transfer.
