Yokohama & Kolkata?

Yesterday at Delhi, I was informed by the World Bank of the efforts taken by Yokohama in their "open yokohama" effort and turn it to a global city - smart and eco-friendly - from a polluted and decaying city.
We are getting in touch with their International Technical Co-operation Division to see if there could be a collaboration.

    Glad to hear this. These exposures and collaboration would definitely be bringing new perspectives. We had been banking on high hopes around Kolkata and Newtown in particular. Mr. Sen, please see to it that we do not cut corners in the name of "adjustments". We all want inclusive growth that is sustainable. At the same time, long-term planning cannot be compromised due to narrow compulsions hurting goal.

    I got an email from Yokohama. It seems, they are planning to come to Kolkata from Japan on 15h-16th Sep 2011. Let's see how it unfolds

    Had meeting with Toru Hashimoto of the city of Yokohama today (14th Sep 2011) at HIDCO, New Town, Rajarhat. More about it tomorrow.
