Transparency in Procurement

I moved a file yesterday for officially initiating an e-procurement methodology for tenders. I also made out a proposal for inducting an external expert in the Tender Committees of each Development Autority.

  1. On behalf of KIT we practised such e-Tender through MSTC, a Central Govt Undertaking and received good result. But publicity of Tender through Departmental Website yields NO RESULT perhaps due to absence of proper system of dropping of Tender Papers. I suggest that extension of place of dropping of Tender Papers in addition to the initiating office may be effective for fair handling.

  3. Mr Sadhukhan:
I'd agree with you on that. There has to be paper advt. In addition, there has to be the option of downloading tender paper from the web and submitting bids through the net.

  4. Binita:
Thanks. I take this opportunity to quote from India Today of May 24, 2010:
"..A senior home ministry official confirms the existence of cartels in the bulletproof jacket trade...It is not clear what is more shocking: that there are firms which will scrimp on a life- saving product or the fact that the Government knows that they are doing so..."
    -I wish to break cartels.
